The problem

Most Arabic apps teach you the wrong Arabic.

The Lebanese you grew up hearing is not the Arabic Duolingo teaches.

Modern Standard Arabic is the language of news anchors and textbooks. Almost no one in Lebanon actually speaks it at home, at the dinner table, or on the phone to their mother. The Arabic your family speaks is the Lebanese dialect — a living, distinct language with its own vocabulary, rhythm, and music.

Every generic Arabic app — and even most "Levantine Arabic" courses — teach a mixed or formalised version that no Lebanese person actually uses. That is why diaspora learners spend years on apps and still cannot understand their grandmother.

Speaking Lebanese is the only platform built end-to-end for the Lebanese dialect — designed by a Beirut-based language teacher, structured against the CEFR framework, and delivered exclusively in the language your family speaks.

Duolingo Arabic

Modern Standard Arabic. Reads news; cannot order coffee in Beirut.

Generic "Levantine" courses

Mixed Syrian / Jordanian / Palestinian / Lebanese. Sounds wrong to a Lebanese ear.

YouTube videos

Free, scattered, no structure, no certification, no progress.

Speaking Lebanese

100% Lebanese dialect. CEFR-structured A1–C2. Certified per level.

The solution

Lebanese dialect. Properly structured. Genuinely certified.

Not another app. A complete language pathway.

Lebanon

100% Lebanese Dialect

Every word, every dialogue, every audio file is the Lebanese dialect as it is actually spoken in Beirut and across the diaspora. No Modern Standard Arabic. No Syrian or Palestinian mixing. The real thing.

🏫

CEFR-Structured A1 to C2

Six levels, 48 lessons, mapped to the international Common European Framework of Reference for Languages — the same framework used by universities, embassies, and global employers. A real qualification path, not an open-ended app.

  • DAEFLE qualification in French-language teaching
  • DELE diploma in Spanish
  • MBA, Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK)
  • 25+ years teaching
  • 4.9 / 5 average student rating

Nidale is a professional language teacher from Beirut, and the architect of everything you will learn here. For more than 25 years she has done something deceptively rare: taught the Lebanese dialect properly — with the structure, rigour, and care most people assume only exists for "big" world languages.

She is a formally credentialed language teacher with the DAEFLE qualification in French-language teaching and the DELE diploma in Spanish, and she holds an MBA from the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK) — a rare combination of classroom mastery and the discipline to build a real institution. Across more than two decades she has taught professionals, corporate teams, adult beginners, and children across multiple countries, earning a 4.9/5 average rating and a near-perfect student renewal rate.

When she set out to build Speaking Lebanese, she did not adapt a generic Arabic course. She designed a complete pathway from the ground up — six CEFR levels, 48 lessons, every dialogue, every recording, every assessment — mapping a living spoken dialect to an international framework for the first time. It is the course she always wished existed for her own students.

Lebanese is not a foreign language — it is a living one. And living languages are meant to be spoken, not just studied. Learning a language can feel overwhelming, but it really just takes a structured path, engaging practice, and confidence — practice, practice, practice.

How it works

Place. Learn. Certify. Deepen.

Four steps, designed for adult learners with real lives.

1

Place

Take a free 2-minute written placement test. We recommend the right CEFR level so you never waste time on content below your ability. True beginners can skip the test and go straight to A1.

2

Learn

Work through each level at your own pace. Every lesson follows the same 10-part structure: objective, vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar in context, dialogue, listening, video scenario, exercises, cultural insight, and a homework prompt.

3

Certify

Pass the final assessment of each level at 80% or above and earn your CEFR-aligned Speaking Lebanese certificate. A real credential, recognised against an international framework — not a participation trophy.

4

Deepen

Optional 1-on-1 Zoom sessions with professional language teachers, and live per-level speaking assessments, add real human practice on top of the structured core.

The founding story

It started with one student who refused to give up.

How a language lesson became a friendship — and a mission.

Justine is British-American, and has been married into a Lebanese family for over thirty years. For decades she longed to speak the language her husband's family spoke around her — but when their children were small there was never time, and every "Arabic" course she tried taught a formal language nobody at their table actually spoke.

Then she met Nidale. Nidale started by teaching her French — and she was so good that when Justine finally decided to learn Lebanese, at 52, with only a few random Arabic words to build on, she knew there was only one teacher she trusted to get her there. Lesson by lesson, Nidale's method did what years of apps never could. Justine went from a handful of words to understanding her family, joining the conversations she'd sat outside of for thirty years, and falling in love with the language.

Somewhere along the way, her teacher became a dear friend. And they both realised the same thing: what Nidale had built wasn't just working for Justine — it was something the whole world had been missing. Millions of Lebanese families, scattered across the diaspora, are watching their language quietly slip away from their children and grandchildren. Nobody was teaching the real, spoken Lebanese — properly, beautifully, in a way that lasts.

So they decided to build it together. Speaking Lebanese is their answer: to keep this beautiful language alive, to honour the heritage behind it, and to give every family in the diaspora a real way home to it. Justine is living proof Nidale's method works — and now it's yours.
